• Explicitly structured outside gambling regulation: Because every competition can always be entered for free by post, Storm states its competitions fall outside the Gambling Act 2005 entirely, rather than relying on a skill question alone.
• DCMS Voluntary Code signatory with named oversight: A senior member of management is explicitly assigned responsibility for compliance with the Code, with periodic internal reviews against it.
• Genuine spend-limit tools down to £0: Customers can set a monthly spending limit as low as £0, and the platform technically blocks any purchase that would exceed it.
• Named Money Laundering Reporting Officer: Operates a documented AML policy with an MLRO responsible for reporting suspicious activity directly to the National Crime Agency.
• Address verification on all winners: Storm states it address-checks and identifies all winners specifically to catch attempts to circumvent entry rules, with any prize forfeited if this is found.
• Escalation to company directors on unresolved complaints: Complaints that can't be resolved by the support team are escalated through senior management and, if needed, ultimately to the company's own directors for final review.
• Cash alternative negotiated on the winner's behalf: For vehicle prizes, Storm will seek the best trade price from local dealers on the winner's behalf if they prefer cash, though a reasonable admin deduction applies and the winner can decline and sell the car privately instead if unhappy with the offer.
• Winner calls are recorded: All calls made to winners are recorded, and winners may also be asked to pose for photos and videos for future marketing.
